Crisp fall air is here, and Halloween is just around the corner. Here are six ways to enjoy the next two weekends around DFW, from a zoo full of costumes to a spooky train ride in Grapevine.
Boo at the Zoo

Friday to Sunday, Oct. 23 to 25, 10 AM to 5 PM | Fort Worth Zoo, Fort Worth
Put on a costume and stroll the zoo for treat stations, stage shows and keeper chats. Regular zoo admission covers it, and each ticket comes with six treat coupons. Guests 13 and older need to keep their faces visible, so leave the full masks at home.
Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering

Friday to Sunday, Oct. 23 to 25 | Fort Worth Stockyards and Cowtown Coliseum, Fort Worth
Watch chuck wagon teams cook over open fires and cheer on working cowboys at the ranch rodeo. Saturday night ends with the Western Swing Festival, a fun pick for a two-stepping date night. Rodeo and dance tickets are sold separately.
PriMadonna: Madonna Tribute

Friday, Oct. 23, 7:30 PM | Peace Plaza at Harvest Hall, Grapevine
Grab your friends and sing along to Madonna hits from the 80s and 90s. Doors open at 7 PM, and the concert is free.
Nash Farm Fall Round-Up

Saturday, Oct. 24, 10 AM to 2 PM | Historic Nash Farm, Grapevine
Step back into the 1800s with farm demonstrations, heritage crafts and hands-on activities. Admission is free, and concessions support the farm’s education programs. Park at Cannon Elementary or Grapevine Botanical Garden and ride the free shuttle over.
Haunted Camp Out

Saturday, Oct. 24, 3 PM, to Sunday, Oct. 25, 10 AM | Bear Creek Park, Keller
Pitch a tent for a night of s’mores, a costume contest, tent decorating and tent-to-tent trick-or-treating. A spooky trail leads to a haunted movie under the stars. Registration closed on Oct. 20, so call Keller Parks and Recreation at 817-743-4050 to ask about open spots.
Witches’ Brew Train

Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30 and 31, 7:40 PM | Cotton Belt Railroad Historic District, Grapevine
Climb aboard a vintage train for a two-hour Halloween date night with Texas craft brews, appetizers and dessert bites. Costumes are encouraged, and this ride is 21 and up. Seats are listed as at capacity, so check with the railroad before you make plans.
